Resveratrol Helps Improve the Fitness of Your Fat

The health of your white adipose tissue determines your metabolic and cardiovascular risk.  This is a new perspective on health that is backed by overwhelming new science.  Many nutrients are showing that they can favorably influence the fitness of your fat and a new study shows that resveratrol is one of them.

Resveratrol, like a calorie restriction diet, activates the powerful anti-aging gene signal known as Sirt1.  In the new cell study researchers showed that fat cells make Sirt1 in direct proportion to the amount of resveratrol they are exposed to.  This had the effect of inhibiting the formation of new fat cells from baby fat cells.  Resveratrol also helped turned down inflammatory gene signals within fat cells which is also important.

The researchers concluded that their findings “open up the new perspective that resveratrol-induced intracellular pathways could be a target for prevention or treatment of obesity-associated endocrine and metabolic adverse effects.”  You can add resveratrol to your weight management toolbox.
